Meet Brian Hauer, Our New Chief Experience Officer

We’re excited to welcome Brian Hauer as Chief Experience Officer at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore. In this role, Brian will lead our Sports & Wellness efforts, with a focus on strengthening connection, enhancing the member experience, and continuing to build a welcoming community for all.

As Chief Experience Officer, Brian will help shape how members engage with the J—from their first visit to the relationships they build over time.

Get to know Brian:

What drew you to the JCC and this role?
I was drawn to the JCC because of its strong sense of community and belonging. I’m especially interested in being part of an organization that brings people together across different backgrounds and creates a welcoming space for everyone.

What are you most excited to get started on?
I’m excited to get to know the community and bring people into the JCC to experience being connected and supported.

What does a great experience at the J look like to you?
For me, a great experience starts when you pull into the parking lot—it’s a sense of accomplishment in what’s waiting for you behind the doors.

What does “wellness” mean to you in your everyday life?
To me, wellness is about movement: parking further away, taking the stairs, getting up every 30 minutes to an hour during desk work—and, of course, getting in a few workouts each week in our sports and wellness center.

What’s one small habit you try to stay consistent with?
Saying goodnight and good morning every day to my family.

Outside of work, how do you like to spend your time?
I like working on house projects and taking neighborhood walks with my kids and our dog.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I watch YouTube channels about salvage car rebuilds.

What does community mean to you?
To me, it’s people of all ages and backgrounds gathering to share in conversation and traditions.

What’s your walk-on song if you had one?
“Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins (Top Gun).

What’s a food you’ll never say no to?
BBQ brisket.
