Welcome Kendra Wainwright, Assistant Director of the Stoler Early Learning Center

The Stoler Early Learning Center is pleased to welcome Kendra Wainwright as our new Assistant Director of Preschool (ages 2-5 year olds). Bringing more than a decade of educational experience, Kendra joins our leadership team with a deep commitment to supporting children, educators, and families through meaningful relationships and exceptional early childhood education experiences.

A Pikesville native, Kendra is excited to return to the community where she was raised and now shares many of those same experiences with her three daughters. Her professional journey has taken her across three states, where she served as a substitute teacher, preschool and elementary educator, and office administrator. Each role has strengthened her belief that every child deserves a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

After more than ten years in elementary education, Kendra found herself drawn to early childhood education, recognizing the powerful connection between children’s earliest experiences and the confidence, curiosity, and resilience they carry into the future. She is passionate about creating environments where young learners develop the skills to become thoughtful problem-solvers and engaged members of their communities.

Stoler Early Learning Center’s play-based, experience-driven approach to learning, along with its strong culture of family partnership, made the Assistant Director role a natural fit for Kendra.

“Educators and families each bring unique expertise,” Kendra shares. “When we work together, children thrive.”

As Assistant Director, Kendra is looking forward to collaborating with the ELC’s talented teaching team while supporting professional growth and fostering a culture where every educator feels empowered and valued. Her leadership philosophy centers on empathy, service, and relationship-building, creating an environment where authentic collaboration can flourish.

She also believes that strong schools are built through meaningful partnerships with families. Her goal is for every family to feel welcomed, heard, and connected, recognizing that children’s greatest successes come when school and home work together.

When asked what defines an exceptional preschool, Kendra describes a place where children feel safe to explore, ask questions, share their observations, and engage in meaningful conversations with caring teachers who guide their learning through play and discovery.

Outside of school, Kendra enjoys spending time with her three daughters, reading, crafting with her Cricut, and tackling word games and word searches. Family conversation nights around the dinner table are one of her favorite traditions, creating opportunities for creativity, laughter, and connection.

Fun fact: each of her daughters was born in a different state, Texas, Alaska, and Maryland.

As the new school year begins, Kendra is excited to build relationships throughout the J Early Childhood community and continue strengthening the collaborative spirit that makes the ELC so special.
