Join a dynamic auditioned choir, singing pop and Jewish music for grades 3-6. Students will learn advanced vocal techniques, ear training, harmonizing, and more. The last class will have a showcase to allow our families to see what we’ve worked on all season long. In the spring, Zimra students will have the exclusive chance to perform on the Gordon Stage with HaZamir in the Spring! Auditions required.

HaZamir Baltimore

Sundays | 3:45-5:45pm | Weinberg Park Heights JCC

Conducted by Erika Schon and comprised of diverse teens from nine different high schools, HaZamir Baltimore is one of 38 chapters in the U.S. and Israel of HaZamir: The International Jewish Teen Choir.  Through weekly rehearsals of high-level Jewish choral music, HaZamir creates a pluralistic peer community, and builds Jewish identity, leadership skills, and a strong connection to Israel.

Eligible teens in grades 8-12 will connect and perform with their peers on a regional, national and international level. This year our Baltimore chapter will join Hazamir: The International Jewish Teen Choir for a performance at Carnegie Hall on March 23, 2025. For more information visit Hazamir.org

Testimonials

The JCC youth arts program is phenomenal. The team helps students work through their fears, helping them to accomplish more than they thought possible. They build confidence and self esteem while encouraging them to act with and through kindness. It’s a wonderful experience.
