Sara Shalva is Chief Arts Officer at the Jewish Community Center, where she oversees the strategic vision for the Center for Arts and Culture. Previously, Sara served as the Assistant Director at the Pearlstone Center and the Chief Program Officer of Jewish Life and Learning at the Edlavitch DCJCC. Sara lived in Israel for four years where she studied at Hebrew University and the Pardes Institute, volunteered on Project Otzma and worked at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

Based on the novel by the same name by Israeli author Meir Shalev, the drama starring Shira Haas, Harvey Keitel and Lior Ashkenazi is steeped in Jewish tradition and palpable love for the culture, touching on themes of rediscovering one’s roots and finding a purpose in life.
