About Myrna Cardin

Myrna is a life-long Baltimorean whose connection to the JCC started as a camper and has continued until today. She was on the founding committee of JCC Associates, the volunteer arm of the J led by Shoshana Cardin z”l and served as JCC Board Chair from 1993 to 1995. Myrna also took her children to the Weinberg Park Heights JCC for after school activities and years later brought her grandchildren to participate in drop in holiday and Shabbat programs. In 1992, Myrna served on the steering committee for the first Maccabi Games in Baltimore and co-chaired the demanding Housing Committee. Over the years, she has been a fitness user (at both campuses) and attended many cultural events and performances at the Gordon Center.

Myrna’s other leadership roles included past president of the Baltimore Jewish Council, the Associated’s Baltimore Jewish Life Lead Team and the Baltimore Hebrew Institute Advisory Committee at Towson University. She is also a past board member of Jewish Community Services and ACHARAI (now Na’aleh). In the general community, Myrna served as Chair of the Board of Visitors for Towson University, on the boards of the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women and the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, and held a congressional leadership position as member of the Advisory Board of Congressional Families’ Action for Cancer Awareness.

Myrna and her husband, Senator Ben Cardin have been married for 60 years. Their daughter Deborah Cardin is married to Jonathan Willis and Myrna is the proud nana to granddaughters Madeline and Julia.

About the Bezalel Leadership Award
The “Bezalel” Leadership Award, established in 2023, honors individuals who have inspired and led
transformative change in our community. As a biblical leader, Bezalel was an exemplary artisan and
craftsman who was appointed to design and construct the tabernacle, and the Ark of the Covenant as
Moses led the Israelites to the Promised Land.

Live on Stage

Legendary drummer, Max Weinberg, and his amazing four-piece band perform his Jukebox Tour, playing familiar songs from the glory days of rock and roll!

Max the “Mighty” Weinberg will invite the J Live audience to create the set list in real time, choosing from over 200 classic rock and roll hits! Max has spent 43 years touring the world with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and was the bandleader for Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show for 17 years.
