Masks in the Fitness Center
Masks are required for all members and guests in Park Heights due to a Baltimore City mandate.
Masks are also required for all unvaccinated members and guests in Owings Mills.See our Mask Policy for details. 

Fitness Center Details

One of the main attractions you will find at the J is our fitness center. Our roomy, clean and inviting facilities provide a great variety of top line cardio and strength training equipment from companies like Cybex, LifeFitness, Hammer Strength and more.

In Owings Mills this equipment is spread out over 8500 square feet and in Park Heights we provide a 4500 square foot main fitness floor along with our separate Fitness Too room, which offers alternating Male/Female-only hours to accommodate members who prefer more privacy. Please review the J Fitness Center Rules.

Teen Workouts
You must be 16 years old to work out in the JCC Fitness Centers, however, teens ages 12-15 can gain access to the Fitness Centers once they've completed the Jr. Weight Training course. Access for Jr. Weight Training is limited to cardio, selectorized and plate loaded equipment. After taking our Fitness Floor Ready, youth ages 9+ can use the cardio equipment with supervision.

Jr. Weight Training
Owings Mills & Park Heights JCC
Ages 12-15 
Teens learn proper techniques and protocol for using our cardio and weight machines in these three, one-hour sessions. Completion of this training allows them independent access to our Fitness Center including cardio equipment, selectorized equipment and Hammer Strength plate loaded equipment.  Must be 16 or older to use free weight area.

Ages 9+
Now youth as young as age nine will be able to utilize the cardio equipment in the fitness center under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian. The youngster and a parent/guardian must complete a special one-hour Fitness Floor Ready session together first.
