Hirsh Early Childhood Center, J Kids (including youth arts), J Camps, Jewish Family Engagement, Teens and 4Front as well as helping with our Public Relations. Q: What is your history and involvement with the JCC?
A: For as long as I can remember I have been involved with the JCC. During my younger years my mother was a teacher in the preschool, I took ballet and gymnastic classes as a child, spent my summers as a Milldale camper, became a TNT and even performed the title role of Anne Frank at the Weinberg Park Heights JCC. After starting a family of my own, I returned with involvement in Baby & Me classes (where I made lifelong friends) which led to my becoming a Baby & Me instructor for 9 years. Growing up in theater, ‘performing’ for infants was a perfect fit! My children then attended preschool, Noah’s Ark, tennis camp, participated in various sports teams and they eventually started teaching tennis at the JCC. To this day, every stage of my life has involved an inclusion of the JCC of Greater Baltimore.
Q: What led you to a career in marketing?
A: As a Communications and Theatre major, I was looking for an avenue to further use my creativity in. This led me to the field of marketing and finding the best ways to promote products and services. Marketing is all about getting people interested and excited about what you are involved in.
Q: What led you to this specific position at the JCC?
A: I have always been committed and connected to the local Jewish Baltimore community. For the past 7.5 years, I have been fortunate enough to work in marketing for The Associated Jewish Federation of Baltimore. When the opportunity arose to take my skills back to the JCC which has always held such a personal connection for me, especially focusing on youth and families, it was just a natural fit and transition.
Q: What does your new role entail? What are you excited to bring to this position?
A: I am the Assistant Marketing Director for the Center for Youth & Families, which involves helping to communicate how great and amazing the JCC is for those in that demographic. I’m excited to bring my energy and creativity to this role, building on the past while moving towards the future.
Q: What are you most looking forward to with this new position?
A: I am looking forward to returning to my ‘roots’ while also reconnecting with an organization and so many people that have been such an important part of my life. Also being able to share my positivity and excitement about the JCC with others!
