In 1936, Hungary is preparing to align itself with Hitler. A beautiful girl is found dead, with only a Jewish prayer book in her purse. Crime reporter Zsigmond Gordon begins to investigate a world of pornographers, brothels, and Communist cells, leading to the highest echelons of power. The more people try to scare him away, the deeper he digs, not knowing what motives lie behind the truth.

Bagels meet bongos in this film, which tells the little-known story of the Jewish love affair with Latin music. Filmed in New York, Havana, Miami Beach and the Catskill Mountains, this fun, uplifting film features a lovable, somewhat zany collection of dancers. Now retired yet still dancing in Florida, they share their passion for the mambo, the sultry dance from Cuba that became a world-wide sensation. Featuring the music of Tito Puente, Celia Cruz and mambo king Pérez Prado, this film explores a mostly unexamined aspect of Jewish life and culture.

The movie is free but tickets are required.
