Meet Our Instructors
Brittani Green
Acting, Audition Prep, Monologue Coaching
Brittani is so happy to be returning to the JCC this fall, after joining the Habimah Arts program for the first time this past summer as a Teaching Artist. After graduating from Baltimore School for the Arts, Brittani decided to continue her education in Theatre by attending and graduating from The Theatre School at Depaul University where she received her B.F.A. in Acting. Brittani made Chicago her second home, where she performed in several productions, working with theatre companies such as Steppenwolf Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble & Chicago Children’s Theatre. Currently, Brittani is hoping to inspire the next generations of thespians by teaching Theatre.
Recently, she took on a new role by directing her first play, Miss Beth by Don Zolidis at Western High School, where she is currently a faculty member. As the mother of a son with autism, Brittani is working to connect her work as a teaching artist directly to helping children with special needs.
Alison Levy
Voice, Voice Audition Technique, & Show Prep
Born in Toronto, Canada, Alison earned both her Honors Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and her Masters of Operatic Performance from the University of Toronto. Upon graduating, Alison received a Canada Council Grant to study in Vienna, Austria, where she met with success performing as a soprano in many opera productions across Germany and Austria. Alison extended her operatic training at the Atelier Lyrique de L‘Opera de Montreal. A short operatic career followed before Alison discovered her real passion lay on the teaching side of the vocal world. She uses classical vocal technique as a basis for teaching that is adaptable to any genre of singing such as musical theatre and Broadway. Alison loves teaching beginners of any age who are interested in using their voice to become the best singer they can be. Currently, Alison is also teaching voice at the Baltimore School of Music, cited as giving “The Best Music Lessons” by the Baltimore Sun in 2021 and 2022. She is very excited to join the music faculty of the Jewish Community Center of Baltimore in Owings Mills this fall.

About Our Private Lessons
Contact UsPrivate vocal training is tailor-made to each individual singer’s needs and goals. Your singer will learn the proper vocal technique to increase vocal range and strength, create a beautiful tone, and maintain a healthy voice. Additionally, students may elect to work on any song within a show that they are currently in rehearsal for (at the JCC or otherwise) to have extra help outside of their allotted rehearsal time. As your singer continues with their teaching artist, they will also gain confidence, poise, and performance technique.
Private acting lessons are tailor-made for each individual actor’s needs and goals. Ultimately, students gain confidence, conquer shyness, and learn skills to enhance any acting challenge that may lay before them. Your actor will learn a deeper knowledge of how to create and develop character, self-expression, and storytelling. Students may elect to work on an audition monologue, scene for TV series, plays, musicals, or films, or a current show that they have been cast in (at the JCC or otherwise). As your actor continues with their teaching artist, they may also delve into improvisation activities, scene work, and monologues to strength their skills.
Private dance lessons are tailor-made for each individual dancer’s needs and goals. This is for students who are passionate about dancing and inspired to excel in their art. It is an extension of a child’s initial dance training, but can also assist in additional strength, flexibility, choreography retention, performance technique, and confidence on stage and in the dance studio. Students may elect to work on a dance audition or a show they have been cast in (at the JCC or otherwise) to work on their technique.
