About the Film
A beautifully heartfelt and quietly joyous film featuring a breathtaking performance by Israel’s renowned actor, Sasson Gabay (Karaoke, The Band’s Visit), who stars as Shimon, a 70-year-old widower travelling from Israel to Paris to see a childhood friend. During his visit, he stays with his only daughter (Israeli rising star Sivan Levy), who lives with her husband and their infant son. As he settles in, Shimon becomes aware of the impending dissolution of their marriage. Fueled by deep love for his daughter, he tries to offer his help, leading to a journey of self-discovery in which they share both their dreams and desires that they had never expressed before.

“A smart and restrained film about emotion, very much in the French cinematic tradition, but with a distinctly Israeli flavor.” – ynet

“A cinematic work with a restrained and clean style that invites viewers to look deeper, and they’ll be glad they did.” – Portfolio

“A subtle and well-acted film about a father who learns that he can’t control his daughter’s life, her struggles, or her failures.” – Haaretz
