Welcome to Myerberg at the J!
For over 40 years, the Edward A. Myerberg Center in Pikesville has been offering a wide variety of programming in the arts, humanities, wellness, and technology for active adults. Its mission is to inspire healthy aging through wellness, creativity, and connection.
Myerberg at the J is a collaborative partnership between the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC and the Myerberg Center. Join us and you’ll find a warm, welcoming environment where you can engage in social activities, wellness classes, technology, the arts, and much more.

Understanding Social Media: Connect, Share and Stay Safe!

Meet The Instructors
Mary Beth Dickman began studying art at age 7, becoming the youngest student to be admitted to Renate’s Studio of Fine Art, and began teaching others at age 13. Mary Beth taught art in Baltimore County Public Schools for 16 years and brought her love of teaching to the Myerberg Center in 2021. She has won multiple awards for her artwork and illustrated two children’s books. Mary Beth specializes in all types of media and is currently teaching a watercolor class and studio art at the Owings Mills JCC.
Knitting instructor Leslye Solomon was the owner of Woolstock Knit & Sew in Glyndon for 19 years. She has written for a national knitting magazine, wrote a book on sweater designing, and produced many knitting patterns and instructional DVDs for hand and machine knitters. Leslye has developed a unique way of teaching hand knitting and has shared that knowledge with thousands of new and experienced knitters over the years.
Melanie Waxman has a master’s degree in Jewish education and has held leadership roles in congregations, agencies, and camps. She has expertise in curriculum development, social action, and leadership, earning multiple grants and honors. As the Tech-Knowledge Hub Concierge at the Myerberg Center, Melanie creates engaging programs to help older adults gain confidence in using technology to enhance their lives. Join Melanie at the Owings Mills JCC and learn how to manage your digital devices and general technology with ease.
