Mask Policy

Updated Mask Policy- effective December 3, 2020.

Masks must be worn at all times at the JCC (except when in swimming pool or brief shower). This means all individuals must now wear a mask in the fitness center and during group fitness classes. Mask must fully cover your nose and mouth. These rules follow new Baltimore City and County requirements for fitness centers.

Out of concern for the safety of everyone who comes into our buildings, all members and staff must respect and cooperate with this mask policy at all times. Any member or staff who is found wearing a mask below their nose or mouth, or not at all, will be asked to mask up properly, and if they are found to disregard these instructions again during their visit they will be asked to leave the JCC immediately and could lose access to the JCC for next seven days.

While we know that wearing a mask during vigorous exercise can be tough,  it is a required additional measure that can safeguard our JCC community during this difficult time.

As pointed out by many, including Governor Hogan, the following protocols are also critical for all of us to follow to mitigate the risk of spreading the virus:

  • Quarantining or testing after visiting an area with high positivity rates or after being exposed to a person who has tested positive for Covid-19.
  • Maintaining six feet of social distance at all times between yourself and others.
  • Proper wearing of face masks – snug fit over nose and mouth
  • Ongoing hand washing and sanitizing – especially before and after touching public surfaces.
  • Continuous anti-bacterial cleaning of public surfaces.

See our Mask Policy FAQ page for more details. If you have any questions please contact our Membership team at Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Best wishes,
