LIFEGUARD (PARK HEIGHTS CAMPUS)

The occupation of a lifeguard encompasses the duties of rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning, the monitoring of activities at a swimming pool to prevent accidents, the teaching of water safety through the communication of rules and policies, and providing assistance to patrons. This position will also help to maintain order and cleanliness in the pool and pool areas, give instructions to swimmers, conduct or officiate at swimming meets, and administer first aid. Additional ancillary lifeguard duties may include checking in and out such items as towels, rings, watches and apparel to the lost and found. and This position will be required to test and record water quality for temperature and/or pH levels, using all of the tools of the testing process including adding chemicals to the test water sample.

The Fitness Center Staff are the face of JCC Fitness!  They are the front line and hold the great responsibility of being able to make or break a member’s experience at the J.  The safety and experience of all members is the top priority of the Staff.  Staff must take the initiative to meet, greet, and assist all members.  Staff must be able to communicate and relate well with others.  Staff are responsible for customer service, standard operations, monitoring, and cleanliness of the JCC Fitness Center.

J PLAY BABYSITTER / BABYSITTER SUBSTITUTES (PH)

JPlay is a program of the JCC with a division offering babysitting services to members and guests, offering piece-of-mind while they work out or attend programming at the J, knowing their children will be safe, nurtured and entertained in our fully-equipped babysitting room. These services are offered for up to 2 hours per visit.

The Babysitters are responsible for the care, supervision and feeding of children ages three months to five years of age. Engaging play supplies (including but not limited to books, “real life” toy sets, and arts & crafts) are provided by the JCC.
There will be one Babysitter on staff at some times, and multiple babysitters on staff at other times.

We provide children with incredible experiences both indoors and outdoors, including swim, sports, music and movement, nature and gardening, Israeli Culture, farm to table cooking, arts and crafts, weekly Shabbat sing-a-longs and so much more! Our camp counselors work collaboratively to take advantage of all that summer has to offer, leaving campers with a memorable summer experience. As a Lead Camp Counselor, you are responsible for providing a safe and stimulating environment which allows children to develop a sense of independence and encourages mutual respect. You will develop daily activities and experiences that promote discovery, increase children’s awareness and problem-solving skills, inspires them to delve deeper in their learning and explorations and express their creativity. As a Lead Counselor, you are primarily responsible for communicating information to parents and the director regularly.  You would develop and implement a high-quality camp program for the children which reflects the vision and values of the Noah’s Ark and the JCC as a whole.

Our programming has a variety of focuses including aquatics, arts & culture, athletics, sustainability and more with a foundation of Judaism. In addition, our training includes child development workshops, skill sharing, and certification in Basic Water Safety and CPR. We hire on a rolling basis.  Our main summer season is June 20 – August 12, 2022, and we offer excellent camper discounts for summer staff.  While most of our positions are full-time, we do have a few that run for only select weeks. Camp Koolanu, located at the Park Heights campus of the JCC of Greater Baltimore, is looking for energetic, dedicated staff members who are interested in working in a fun, creative camp environment this summer. In addition, our training includes child development workshops, skill sharing, and certification in Basic Water Safety and CPR.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE ASSOCIATE

Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Associate is primarily responsible for the daily posting of receipts and preparing bank deposits from monies received at the Owings Mills building as well as processing credit card and ACH transactions. In addition, the incumbent answers inquiries from members regarding problems and questions that pertain to billing and statements in addition to providing members with basic payment information and procedures.
