Do you know the JCC preschool father who recently lost his job and can no longer afford full tuition, or the single mother raising three children who relies on the J as a safe and nurturing place for her kids to play and learn?
Have you met the retiree now living on a fixed income who needs a place to stay active, the child with special needs who wants to participate in J Camp with her siblings, or the young athlete hoping to participate in the JCC Maccabi Games so that he can meet other Jewish teens from around the world?
These are just some of the 700 individuals who were helped last year by the JCC.
Every year, the JCC provides over half a million dollars in need-based assistance.
On Saturday, March 4, 2017, our JCC presented J LIVE at the Gordon, a fun, celebratory and upbeat event created to raise funds to meet these scholarship needs. The highlight of the evening was a performance by The Broadway Boys: six of the most striking leading male voices currently singing on Broadway. The show was preceded by a delicious preshow dessert reception, raffle and an exciting live auction.
The unemployed, the widow, the retiree, the special needs child, the student athlete…they are all valuable members of our JCC family. Your help and financial support continues to assist them, ensuring the J is doing its job: connecting families, supporting individuals, and helping to build a stronger community.
Meet the members of our J community in this special video created for the J LIVE event.
