Teens

JCC Maccabi Experience

If you like connecting, creating or competing with other teens from around the region, the country and the globe, then you will love our JCC Maccabi experiences.

Athletes as young as nine years old can get a taste of the Olympic-style games by participating in our one day Mini and Junior Maccabi games held at JCCs across the Mid-Atlantic region.

By the time you reach age 13 you are ready for the big time! The JCC Maccabi Games® and the JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® have provided life-long memories for thousands of teens over the years and now it’s your turn to experience this five-day whirlwind of sports, creativity, socializing and social action, while forming friendships with teens from across the continent and beyond.

For 2017-2018, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Junior Games and the 36th Anniversary of the JCC Maccabi Games. We are proud to host the first ever combined Mini and Junior Games, which are geared towards providing many of the same opportunities as the JCC Maccabi Games®; healthy athletic competition as well as social and cultural experiences for Jewish athletes ages 9-12 (as of May 1, 2018).

In addition to hosting the Mini and Junior Games, the Baltimore community will be celebrating the 36th anniversary of the JCC Maccabi Games with 36 events throughout the year. This yearlong celebration will culminate in the hosting of the Mini and Junior Games. Events include a Shabbat Dinner experience for our athletes and families, a Chanukah Lighting Ceremony to recognize our cadre of amazing volunteer coaches, and Lag B’Omer Bonfire and Pep Rally the Thursday before the games to provide our athletes and their families another immersive and fun Jewish experience.

Not participating in Mini, Junior or JCC Maccabi? Not to worry! Our 36 events celebrate all aspects of the JCC Maccabi Midot, including:
Tikkun Olam – תיקון עולם – Repairing the World
Kavod – כבוד – Respect
Rina – רינה – Joy
Ga’ava – גאווה – Pride
Lev Tov – לב טוב – Big Hearted
Amiut Yehudit – עמיות יהודית – Jewish Peoplehood
