Queer Jewish Arts Festival

18+

Overview

Join us for a series of programs celebrating multiple facets of our identities — including gender, race, religion and class — through the arts. This festival highlights local, national, and international artists who are making art with Queer and Jewish content and examines the complexity of how we present ourselves and move throughout life. The events amplify intersectional identity and creative expression.

2023-24 Third Annual Festival Events:

STOOP STORYTELLING SERIES
Glitter, Gefilte, Guilt and Guts: Stories by People who are Jewish, Queer, and Here!

An evening of unforgettable true tales celebrating multifaceted identities, presented in partnership with the Stoop Storytelling Series, a Baltimore-based live show and podcast that features “ordinary” people sharing the extraordinary, true tales of their lives. Stoop stories are weird, wonderful, hilarious, and heartbreaking — and, above all, intimate. With special musical guest Katie Long!

JUDY GOLD
An evening of comedy with the acclaimed stand-up comedian, actress, podcaster, television writer, author and producer. We invite you to stay after the show for a Funny, Gay, and Happy Hour — enjoy a drink, nosh, and schmooze as we celebrate PRIDE month with community.

QUEER COMEDY NIGHT: YENTA! LIVE
Gather your friends to celebrate queer Jewish joy! Featuring Raye Schiller and Antonia Lassar as they make you laugh and cry and remember that you should call your mother.

VISUAL ART EXHIBITION
Dates TBA
A special component of this year’s festival will be a gallery exhibition for local and national artists who create visual art at the intersection of Queer and Jewish identities. Featuring the works of visual artist/abolitionist/healer Ayeola Omolara Kaplan, and Baltimore-based artist Utah Miller.
