Member and Guest Sales Representative

Position Hours
Monday-Thursday: 12:00pm-8:00pm
Sundays: 9:00am-5:00pm

Summary

The Member Services Sale Representative is responsible for the promotion and sales of memberships and programs to our current and potential members.  The Member Services Sales Representative will develop relationships with prospective members, current member and other groups in the community to grow our membership base. 

This person is responsible for being fully knowledgeable about the center and its programs/services, delivers the highest level of service to our members and potential members/guests, exemplifies professionalism, and ensures we adhere to the values and mission of the JCC.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous consultative sales experience in a membership-driven organization
  • Background in hospitality
  • Familiarity with marketing techniques
  • Outstanding communicator, connector, and relationship developer; possessing exceptional interpersonal skills
  • A positive, warm, friendly, and flexible attitude
  • Strong knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), email and internet. Experience with CRM database
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Achieve individual and team goals through agency sales practices including lead generation tour scheduling, executing sales, relationship building, and outreach/retention
  • Consistently offer the highest level of customer service.  Our aim is to create long lasting relationships in a welcoming hospitable environment.  Recognize members using their name and engage in informal conversations frequently.
  • Determine the needs and desires of prospective and current members
  • Resolve member issues in an empathetic manner.  Listen-Empathize-Apologize and Fix
  • Provide information to prospective members in person and over the phone regarding JCC facilities and programs
  • Process membership applications with care and detail as well as payments
  • Reach out to members for renewals
  • Follow new member processes beginning with thank you cards up to 90 day calls
  • Solicits prospective members both inside and outside the center using marketing techniques approved by JCC
  • Give facility tours
  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely (24 hours) professional and courteous manner.  This includes telephone, email and in person responses.
  • Demonstrate awareness of the importance of membership sales by engaging in conversation with members and guests to retain and increase membership
  • Maintain accurate and up to date information in CRM database.
  • Utilize various spreadsheets to follow specific lead tracking system
  • Coordinate and/or assist and participate in all member, guest and JCC events, promotions and special projects as needed
  • Call monthly declined credit card accounts for payment
  • Maintain high level of self motivation to achieve person goals
  • Always represent the JCC in a positive and professional manner, demonstrating the values presented in our Mission and Vision statements
  • Attend department meetings and trainings as required
  • Act in leadership role when key staff are out of building
  • Assist Welcome desk in coverage as needed
  • Perform other duties as required or directed
