Meet Our New Arts Education Manager: Adrienne Bergeron

After years of performing and professional theater experience in New York and Los Angeles, Adrienne brings her unique energy and deep understanding of engaging youth in the performing arts she loves so much. Learn more about her plans with our video interview:

Meet Adrienne Bergeron, the Jewish Community Center’s newest addition to our Arts & Culture Team and year-round artist in residence. Adrienne will be overseeing all of the JCC’s youth arts programs, including our 2021 Habimah Arts camps. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Adrienne grew up in Georgia and Tennessee, part of a performing arts family. And although she was involved in her mother’s productions as a youngster, it wasn’t until high school performing in an outdoor summer dramatic production that she had her “lightbulb moment.”

“That summer truly changed my life,” she recalled. “I was around theater people my own age for the first time. It wasn’t a musical; it was more a play with music, but I found my voice, both figuratively and literally on the stage, and realized – this is what I should be doing!

She went back for two summers, leading her to apply to colleges with musical theater and dance programs. She landed at Lees-McRae College in the Blue Ridge Mountains at Banner Elk, N.C. She joins the JCC after years of professional theater experience in New York and Los Angeles, bringing her unique energy and deep understanding of engaging youth in the performing arts she loves so much.

“I’m excited to meet people, the students. I’m excited to meet the families and get them excited and get to know them. I’m also excited watching students grow within the program. It’s an honor for me. Being creative is so important for children.”
