Meet our 2019 Israeli Shlichim!

Neta

My name is Neta and I live in the moshav Sde Nitzan in the southern district of Israel, where I have a farm and a small petting zoo – ask me about my camels! I recently finished my army service as a combat solider in the special forces. In my free time I like to do sports and I like to watch sports as well (especially soccer but basketball is fine too). I am really looking forward to being a counselor in Sports Camp this summer! I can’t wait to experience Baltimore and to connect with the people who live there!  I chose to be a Shaliach because I was looking to do more meaning-ful things after my army service. I want to learn more about myself, about the Jewish community outside of Israel, and of course be a good influence on the kids and the community. After camp, I am planning to travel in Washington state and Canada, but i am open to other suggestions. See you soon!

Maya

Hi, I’m Maya and I’m from Petach-Tikqa, which is outside of Tel Aviv. I am excited to come to J Camps as the Dance Specialist for both J Day and Habimah camps this summer. I eat mostly vegetarian, but will eat meat that has a Hecksher. During my service in the IDF, I served in the Intelligence Corps. In my free time I like do sports, hike, travel, read, but mostly I love to dance! I am looking forward to bringing my love of dance, and my love of Israel, to the campers this summer in Baltimore.  After camp, I’m looking forward to exploring more of the East Coast. I am very excited to come to Baltimore and I can’t wait to meet you all!

Liem

Hey again, my name is Liem, I’m 21 years old and I live in Givaat Shmuel, Israel. This will be my second year at J Camps and I am SO excited to be back!  Last summer I was a Shlicha in Noah’s Ark, working with your youngest campers, and I fell in love with camp and with your community! I’m back this summer as an Outdoors Specialist in the J Day camp, where I will be teaching Zip Line, Ropes Course, and Teambuilding activities. I can’t wait! In my free time I like to go out with my friends, take my dog on long walks, travel, hike, cook, and sometimes just watch TV in bed. I look forward to having a lot of fun this summer in camp and spreading knowledge and love about my beautiful country, Israel. I’m looking forward to seeing you all again!

Rotem

My name is Rotem, I live in a town called Ness Ziona, Israel, and I will be the Tarbut (Israeli Culture) specialist for J Day this summer. In the IDF I serve as an artillery instructor for the reserved forces and train unit commanders in the field.  In my free time, i love to write, take photos, hang out with my friends, and explore new foods. I am looking forward to getting to know your community, learning more about myself in new ways, and connecting with the campers and my host families. I am proud to be an Israeli and can’t wait to share my love of Israel with all of you!

Adi

Hey, I’m Adi and will be the Tarbut (Israeli Culture) Special-ist in Noah’s Ark and Camp Ami this summer.  I live in Natanya, which is outside of Tel Aviv and I keep Kosher-Style.  I am currently serving in the IDF as the head of human resources for my unit – my release date is the day before I land in Baltimore! In my free time I like to bake, travel, read, listen to music, watch movies, and hang out with friends. I am really looking forward to learning about Jewish life in America and how you keep your traditions and customs in a non-Jewish country. As a Shlicha, I want to share my love and knowledge of Israel with my campers, host families, and fellow staff. After camp, I plan to travel around the US as much as I can. I look forward to meeting all of you in Baltimore soon!
