The Queer Jewish Arts Festival

The Third Annual Queer Jewish Arts Festival

Sponsored by the Grandchildren of Harvey M. & Lyn P. Meyerhoff Philanthropic Fund
Made possible, in part, by funding from JPride Baltimore
Thanks to all our 2023 Festival Partners

In honor of Pride Month this June, join us for a series of programs celebrating multiple facets of our identities — including gender, race, religion and class — through the arts. This festival will highlight local, national, and international artists who are making art with Queer and Jewish content and examine the complexity of how we present ourselves and move throughout life.

A visual art exhibit by Queer Jewish Artists.
Now seeking submissions — see details below:

CALL FOR GALLERY SUBMISSIONS

One component of this year's Queer Jewish Arts Festival will be a gallery opportunity for artists who create visual art at the intersection of their multiple identities. The Gordon Center will host an exhibit opening directly preceeding a live music show in the Gordon Season in September.

The Meyerhoff Art Gallery is located in the Gordon Center for Performing Arts, a 550-seat performing arts center that features professional talent in music, dance, film, comedy, theater and more. The gallery provides a creative space for Maryland artists to showcase and sell their works.

Proposals from Queer Jewish artists will be juried by the Gordon Center's Queer Jewish Arts Festival committee. Opportunities are available for a one month exhibition, beginning in September 2023. Seeking works on paper, photographs, paintings and textiles. Please, no 3-D exhibits accepted at this time.

To submit work for consideration, please send the following via email to Melissa Seltzer at mseltzer@jcc.org:
• Artist resume and biography
• 4-10 images of work
• Details for each piece including: Title, Year, Dimensions, Medium, and Price.

Submissions are reviewed year-round for future exhibitions. Selected artists will be responsible for delivery, installation and de-installation of the artists' work.
