This powerful and deeply moving drama is based on the best-selling memoir of Helga Schneider, who was abandoned by her mother in 1941 at age 4. Set in 2000, the film follows four generations of women: Helga, her mother, her daughter, and her granddaughter, examining the generational trauma that still ripples from the horrors of the Second World War. Starring Juliet Stevenson as Helga, this film is about mothers and daughters, and the unraveling of a family secret that impacts them all makes this film at once a personal and universal experience.

Join us on November 18 at 7:00pm for a Zoom discussion with the film's director, Polly Steele.
