Documentary | USA, 2019
Director: Lex Gillespie
English, 89 minutes

Bagels meet bongos in this film, which tells the little-known story of the Jewish love affair with Latin music. Filmed in New York, Havana, Miami Beach and the Catskill Mountains, this fun, uplifting film features a lovable, somewhat zany collection of dancers. Now retired yet still dancing in Florida, they share their passion for the mambo, the sultry dance from Cuba that became a world-wide sensation. Featuring the music of Tito Puente, Celia Cruz and mambo king PĂ©rez Prado, this film explores a mostly unexamined aspect of Jewish life and culture.

The movie is free but tickets are required. Tickets may be requested on the enclosed order form and at gordoncenter.com. There is a limit of four tickets per person.
