Middle School Leadership Council
Middle Schoolers Take Charge
Who says you have to be an adult to become a bona fide leader? The teens that participate in Middle School Leadership Council would have to disagree. This leadership program gives middle schoolers a taste of what it’s like to be the boss.
Operating much like its own nonprofit, two “Executive Directors” run the show – overseeing four different committees that focus on community service opportunities, holiday programming, enrichment classes and Saturday night activities.
The teens get the confidence and training to lead these programs through monthly Council meetings. Sometimes bringing in guest speakers from other Jewish organizations, participants learn about everything from advocacy and fundraising to budgeting and planning.
