The J is proud to offer many different types of Group Fitness Classes to members and Group Fitness workouts are an amazing way to exercise while also having a lot of fun, and -- you should know -- the J employs only the top Group Fitness instructors, highly trained and nationally certified. Group Fitness classes are included in your membership at no additional charge, for JCC Members ages 15+.

The J offers the following Group Fitness Classes:

CARDIOVASCULAR CLASSES

BODYATTACK
The sports-inspired cardio workout to build strength and stamina. A high-energy class to improve coordination and agility.

BODYCOMBAT
Inspired by martial arts – karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai. You will strike, punch, and kick your way to superior cardio fitness.

BODYSTEP
A simple, athletic and fun workout using an adjustable step platform set to energizing music.

BODYVIVE 3.1
Get everything you need in this 3-in-1 workout that combines cardio, integrated strength training, and core work.

INSANITY
Long bursts of maximum-intensity exercises with short periods of rest. This kind of interval training will get you into the best shape of your life!

ZUMBA
A fun and easy-to-do workout combining Latin and International dances. High energy so you can dance away your worries. Great for the body and the mind.

ZUMBA Gold
For beginners & active older adults.

ZUMBA Toning
The original ZUMBA with the addition of light weights for muscle conditioning.


GROUP CYCLING CLASSES

CYCLING
Build endurance and cardiovascular fitness as your instructor takes you on a ride on stationary bicycles.


RESISTANCE TRAINING

BODYPUMP®
The original barbell class that challenges all your major muscle groups. Great music, awesome instructors, and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results your came for – and fast!

JBARRE
This workout creates a lean, firm, sculpted body using the body-elongating practice of dance conditioning, and the intense pace of interval training.

SMRT Core
Self Myofascial Release Techniques using The GRID. Unlock your muscles and you will move better with less pain!


MIND/BODY CLASSES

YOGA
Yoga blends postures with breathing exercises and meditation. It is a practice cultivating strength, balance, and flexibility emphasizing experiencing life in the moment. PLEASE NOTE -- Our yoga classes are for all levels when not specified as “beginner” or “gentle.”

GENTLE YOGA
A nurturing practice with gentle and deliberate movement, breathing, guided relaxation, and supported pose(s) to increase flexibility, balance, and wellbeing.

THERAPUTIC YOGA
A simple, athletic and fun workout using an adjustable step platform set to energizing music.

RESTORATIVE YOGA
Supported, gentle yoga. Postures are assisted using blankets, blocks, and straps. You will stretch and restore your base-line flexibility. Perfect for beginners and people with very tight muscles.

MAT PILATES
A mind and body exercise designed to lengthen and tone the entire body. Pilates focuses on the core muscles creating flat abs and a strong back. It will help you gain strength, balance, and flexibility.

BODYFLOW
The Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm.


FOR BEGINNERS AND OLDER ADULTS

FOREVER STRONG
A combination of strength development, balance work, and movement.

GET FIT, STAY FIT
An easy-to-follow class with everything you need to get fit and stay fit – improve fitness, balance, and coordination.

GOLDEN DRUMS & MORE
A fun class using drumsticks & a resistance ball!

CIRUCIT
For beginners that want to use the equipment in the Fitness Center.



PLEASE NOTE: The JCC no longer has mats for member use. This is for your health and the health of others. Please bring your own sticky mat for Yoga, Pilates and BODYFLOW classes. We have yoga mats for sale for $15. Please see Amy Schwartz to purchase.
