“One does not just watch a dance by Zvi Gotheiner. One enters a world with its own internal logic, a sensual, organic world of movement, languages, and images where one is pulled along by currents unseen and inevitable.”
The bold artistic direction of Israeli-born choreographer Zvi Gotheiner enlightens audiences with its liquid movement, diversity of ensembles and Middle Eastern communal themes. DABKE, inspired by Zvi’s childhood on a kibbutz, energetically combines rich Israeli and Arabic folk dance. ZviDance performs frequently at home in such New York venues as the Joyce Theater, Dance Theater Workshop and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors and has toured across North America and abroad to Germany, Poland, Russia, Israel, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador and Japan.
